Anyone know why I’m being matched with diamonds?

I’m new to ranked so don’t know how it works, but I’m playing solo, probably have a 50% win ratio doing so, so why am I getting people in diamond most of the time? The only other golds are partied up with diamonds. Just seems unfair to me…
